That’s what the Total War Saga series is meant to explore, and Thrones of Britannia takes us back to a suitably fractious period in British history. Total War is known for its sweeping grand strategy that consumes entire continents with the machinations of empires, but there’s an awful lot of history that doesn’t match up to that scale.
